Q: Can these packs be heated in a microwave?
A:
No, they are not microwave safe, therefore should not be heated using a microwave.

Q: Do you boil them for 6 to 10 minutes just before you put them in gloves?
A: Let them cool first before re-use. These warmers can be carried with you for days, weeks and even months, before activating for instant heat, when the content is liquid.

Q: Are they suitable for kids, infants?
A: Yes they can also be used for children. Children often have cold hands and feet or sore spots.  They can also be used for pain relief for kids or infants. Caution: these are professional products and are not suitable to be used as toys.  Please follow the enclosed instructions for use and keep away from kids at other times.

Q: We will not have access to put foot warmers in hot water in a pan on the stove.  Can we place the cushion in a small travel boiling kettle?
A:
Yes they can be rolled up and placed in a small travel kettle or to carry with you in your jacket.

Q: Are the warmers safe?
A: Definitely, due to the unique reaction these products reach a preset temperature, the crystallization will occur at a temperature of 54°C / 130 degrees F, there is no electricity therefore no risk of shocks. The cushions contain water, food grade sodium acetate and a stainless steel disc, the outer casing is medically approved PVC. Just follow the simple instructions enclosed.

Q: Are WarmUp cushions reusable/rechargeable?
A: Yes, the process can be repeated hundreds of times, even thousands. The pad will not operate, if there is a hole in the vinyl or other damage.

Q: What is the best way to store a WarmUp cushion?
A:
The cushions are best stored in their liquid state. If they are stored for prolonged periods in their crystallized state a small amount of water may evaporate from the pad, causing the solution to become more concentrated. In this concentrated state snowflake type crystals may form in the solution. This state may be reversed by extending the boiling times and by leaving the pad in water to cool.

Q: Why do the instructions say, "Do not apply directly onto the skin"?
A:
Warmers generate heat. Some people may experience increased sensitivity to the high temperatures, or may have difficulty determining when the cushion is too hot. Our products are safe to handle, as long as you apply them properly and follow the enclosed instructions.

Q: How long does the warming cushion stay warm?
A: The heating duration of the pad depends on the size, starting temperature and ambient temperature. Once activated, the WarmUp cushion will warm up to the temperature of 54°C and will remain at this temperature until all the liquid crystallizes. Liquid molecules that were not required to heat the pad to its maximum temperature will remain liquid, and crystallize as required, to maintain the maximum temperature. Also the warmed up cushion that is carried inside a backpack or a pocket will maintain its maximum temperature longer than one that is exposed to the open, cooler air.

The better the insulation around the pad and the quicker it is applied, the longer is the heat duration. The larger packs with a higher mass will last longer than the smaller ones. We also offer WarmUp packs with double chambers, this allows you to activate either the two chambers at the same time or one following the other, thus prolonging the heat duration. Generally the heat pack will heat up within five seconds of activation and stay very hot for around thirty minutes and then start to gradually cool down.
